the 10-6 win opengl performace was even slower than on linux. as you could forget xvba with hd 5 cards maybe vlc 1.1.1 will work with win at least with 10-7. but ati employees do not watch movies on pc as they know it looks like crap
No ATI employee is actually using XvBA, or they would commit suicide. And since there is not enough Linux devs already...
And these are just the "simple" settings. I'm sure it is in violation of at least a dozen GNOME HIG Guidelines. And what's up with all these cones
... as if gnome hig were of any relevance at all. Really. That's just ONE GROUP's *opinion* of the way they want things. It doesn't mean that they're right, or even that they are any better than anyone else.
Quite frankly, how much do you really need to mess with the settings?
And how exactly do you figure that other media player's config interfaces are any better? gmplayer and xine are atrocious!
.... or you just like punching in text? In which case I ask you why you don't watch your videos in binary...? cat somefile.mkv.... Right -- need the pictures to make it a pleasant experience.
Its a bit of an impossible position you're taking here. ALL media players have horrible interfaces and a media player that is console only is kinda lame.
