Phoronix: NVIDIA Tegra K1 Compared To AMD AM1 APUs

This weekend when publishing preview benchmarks of NVIDIA's Tegra K1 from the Jetson TK1 development board, there were numerous requests by Phoronix readers to see this high-end ARM SoC pitted against the new AMD AM1 APUs. In this article are some benchmarks of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on all of the AM1 Athlon and Sempron APUs compared to the Tegra K1 Cortex-A15 SoC.

      How about the O-DROID

There are several arm based boards the Tegra K1 would "compete" with. I'm highly interested in how it performs vs both the ODROID-U3, ODROID-X2, and the ODROID-XU. These are significantly cheaper with some really good specs. It would be awesome to see some comparisons.

      http://www.hardkernel.com/main/produ...=G138733896281 $60

      http://www.hardkernel.com/main/produ...=G137510300620 $169

The interesting thing about the $169 XU is that it has 8 cores in big.LITTLE configuration.

Every graph has a link to openbenchmarking, just press on the logo and the on "view all results".

A small note, for those who didn't look at first or didn't think to look... This is comparing closed-source Nvida vs open source Radeon-- not Catalyst. So performance on the AMD side isn't going to be 'full hardware potential.'

There isn't even any graphics or OpenCL tests in this article...

I don't have any ODROID boards.

mmm i actually can't find any games or gpu side applications tested on this article, in that sense which GPU driver you use doesnt matter at all because CPU/Mobo/Chipset drivers are open and inside the kernel tree (nvidia blob/gallium drivers/Catalyst only drive GPU's and nothing else)

if i miss any games/3d app in the article please point it out

There aren't any, as I mentioned a few times in that article text, that testing is still forthcoming.

I have X2. It works quite well as a desktop, but still it's still not a good x86 CPU with GPU that has drivers built for X.org and not Android (Mali). http://openbenchmarking.org/result/1...FO-1305102FO57
