  • Poll: Which graphics card is the fastest?

    - NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX 512MB
    - ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB
    - ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
    - ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB

In what order (from highest to lowest frame-rates) do you think those graphics cards perform at 1920 x 1200 with 8x AA and 16x AF under Linux?

The results will be published in about a week.

For what games? Is the test just one game or is it going by the complete game suite found in PTS?

Hmmm lets say Enemy Territory: Quake Wars specifically but other tests in PTS too.

I say it will go something like this:

            1. 9800GTX
            2. HD4870
            3. HD3870
            4. HD4850

That's taking into consideration the rather "poor" performance of the HD4850 from the previous review. It will ultimately depend on the game. I expect that by the next few driver releases things will start looking differently.

For Linux and unpatched wine -> NVIDIA. ATI still has too many problems with it.

8xAA? Clearly the ATi cards. 8xAA is a *lot* faster than with nVidia since RV670.
