    Hi,

    What motherboard and graphics card do you plan on using?

      It appears like hes using the BIOSTAR TForce TF7050-M2 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 7050PV HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard.

      So the graphics hes probably using is the intergrated 7050PV. Which as of recently, nVidia put 7050 support into their driver recently so it should work with their newest drivers. The motherboard works in Linux from what i've read as well.

      Looks like a solid choice to me.

        Oops, it's been a long day with the driver activity and all

            also looking at building a myth / media box

            Hi am also looking at building a mythbox.
            Have maybe done too much or the wrong type of research as I am contemplating a million options at the moment .

            The key things I want to achieve are

            * display in the htpc case that is fully functional with myth/media applications
            o this also means that if I am working without TV/screen on I would want to see the radio station being played, the cd track being played, etc
            o alternatively a small touchscreen but prefer the above
            * remote that controls the box
            * hotkeys on the case that allow operation of cd mode etc
            * ability to play h264 video
            * high def output
            * QUIET!

            If the operation cannot be done without having to turn the TV on, than the whole thing is going to fissle. Obviously minimising energy consumption is a must, so the current things I have in mind are similar to the first post:
            Amd x2 BE model
            Mirco ATX mainboard, favouring AMD chipset (see tomshardware for power info)
            2gb ram
            1 sata hd
            1 dvd-burner
            1 dual tv tuner
            Optional 1 dab radio tuner

            So where am I stumbling at the moment: the case

            I have read so many reviews, seen so many webpages I am clueless what case to get.

              bump anybody got any ideas how to solve my case problem?

              also had another look at power supply, currently my DVB-T tuner draws about 7Watt on Standby so that should be comparable, a low powered system will not be able to beat my individual components (like DVB-T tuner or dvd player), probably going to be 20Watts more consumption I guess, any ideas for that welcome

                Why not make one by your own ?

                This kind of media box is very expensive, and not really better than a small htpc like you said.

                  What's the name of your favorite distribution?
                  Have you tried MythTV before?

                  I plan to try www.mythbuntu.org
                  its look easy and lightweight.

                    I have mythTV on debian, it's ok... but I think it's possible to have sexier...

                    Look at http://elisa.fuendo.com, this project seems pretty cool.

                    There is also Rage, but it's not as complete as other media center.

                    There is an other project based on EFL like Rage : Enna (http://www.digital-corner.org/index.php?id=66)
