Have one of these plus a V3X. Both work great as a modem via Bluetooth or a USB cable (although speeds are that of really good dialup with twice the latency ), for T-Mobile Web/Internet via ppp in Linux, and of course the mass-storage device driver (on V3Xs or models of Razrs that have a card reader). Unfortunately, however, there aren't any decent and/or actively maintained software projects to manipulate the firmware or filesystem on these phones like there are in Windows. There was moto4lin, however, in my experiences this doesn't seem to work for the V3X and is iffy at best with the V3.
